Uliana is wearing a dress by Julliett and jewellery by RubyStar.
It can be hard sometimes to find affordable clothes in good quality, which can last and stay in your wardrobe for many years. I am always looking for the perfect black cardigan, pencil skirt or grey t-shirt. Most of the times it is better to spend money on the basics that you will use for a while, instead of buying cheap versions at the fast fashion brands.
The clothes should feel luxurious even if you haven’t spent a fortune. I love to find designers that are picky with the fabrics. Julliett was created in 2005 in Tel Aviv; a brand with feminine cuts, elegant details in amazing materials like silk. When I visited the store in Jaffo I found some dresses that I am still thinking about, even a month later. I can’t wait to go back and invest in one of them.
Or hopefully a boutique in Stockholm will bring the brand to Sweden.
There are few things that can save your wardrobe as a simple blouse in a classic color. It can be used for every occasion, depending how you match it. But it is more difficult than you think to find the perfect one, with the perfect cut and fabric. I found one in silk at the sale at Filippa K in military green, but I also liked this one – by Andy Ve Eirn.
Acne’s creative director Jonny Johansson won the prize ”Swedish Designer of the Year” during the Elle gala two days ago. During the press conference the same morning, the journalists got the chance to ask questions to all the winners (The Stylist of the Year, The Photographer of the Year, the Model of the Year and so on)– but I was of course only interested in interviewing Jonny. We talked about Acne’s change, development and progress and how appreciated the brand has become by people around the world. I will try to summarize and publish the conversation soon.
Eyal was wearing an Acne sweater when I met him and Sahar in Tel Aviv. But I wanted to know what inspired these two fashion enthusiast except from Acne and what people, magazine and blogs you can read about on their blog. They answered me: Raf Simons, Fantastic Man, 032C, The Travel Almanac, Gleen O’brien, Andy Spade, Angelo Flaccavento, Closeup and private, Mister Mort, Salvage Yard, Fffound, Très Bien Shop and APC.
What inspires you?
Kianne is wearing a skirt and blouse by Dorin Frankfurt.
Dorin Frankfurt is one of the leading fashion designers in Israel. Her S/S 2012 show during Tel Aviv Fashion Week, made me realize that she was one of few that were designing clothes for the Israeli environment. Most of the other designers during the fashion week probably planned to dress Europeans in the heavy fabrics and dark colors. But Dorin Frankfurt understands the woman under the Israeli sunlight, and created a light collection in pastels and linen.
I visited Dorin and her daughter Kianne in her office and factory in Tel Aviv a couple of days ago. We talked about designers from the 80s that disappeared, the picture I took of the long skirt during the show and her latest collection that was inspired by the Sabra flower.
